Rock Breaking System
Blasting without detonation
RocKracker® breaks oversized boulders via gas pressure developed at the bottom of a drill hole. The pressure comes from the ignition of a proprietary composite propellant in the RocKracker® cartridge. No special blasting licence is required, although an ATF low explosives use license is needed. The cartridge is initiated with either a non-electric shocktube thermal igniter or electric ignition.
All RocKracker purchasers MUST fill out a Statement fo Use form and show your ATF license before ordering.
The system was originally designed for use in underground and surface mines, quarries and construction operations. The unique propellant, was developed to minimize the production of carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen in the combustion gases. This makes RocKracker® the best choice for underground or other sensitive environments. It is also excellent for breaking boulders at open-air quarries or your excavation job site.
Relatively safe and efficient
The cartridge is not effective until confined in the drill hole, it is much safer to use for boulder breakage than conventional explosives.
RocKracker® provides serious rock breaking without the huge costs of expensive equipment while avoiding costly downtime associated with conventional blasting.

1. Drill a hole
2. Insert the RocKracker® cartridge into the hole
3. Load stemming above the cartridge
4. Initiate the cartridge
